The Academy for Global Studies
AGS is a small community within Austin High School that focuses on educating students about global issues and the connection between different communities and our own. The students work in depth with many cultures and study various aspects of each one. The work they do prepares students for the globally connected world. Each year the students are able to travel out of state or country to have first hand experience of what they study within their classes.
Boston 2k14
This year the junior class was able to travel to Boston, Massachusetts and study multiple groups of immigrants who established themselves within the Boston area. Our particular group studied Italian culture and interviewed experts and individuals who had first hand accounts of our actual topic. For our final project we created a compilation of all our studies and investigations into this webpage and an in depth research paper.
